what weed/berry is this? (pics) and is it poisonous?

Hi,

I found this growing in my yard. I was wondering if anyone knew what it was, and if the berries are poisonous. (I live in Houston, TX.)

It looks like solanum ptycanthum (black nightshade). I think that the whole plant is poisonous to humans and pets.

Wow. I googled "solanum ptycanthum" and the pictures match what I'm seeing. So I guess you're right: it's black nightshade, a poisonous plant. Thanks for your help.
