Is this a weed?

Hi Everyone- New here and looking for some help.

I am trying to determine if the below is a weed or not. I have a few patches of this on my otherwise nice green lawn and I am trying to see if I should be concerned or ignore it. It seems to be a thicker bladed grass that clumps.

Whether you consider that a weed or not is up to you; I've had entire lawns made up of it which were excellent visually, but not a treat to walk on. The problem, of course, is that it's quite tough to get rid of it. I'd start by trying to pull it up from the roots.

The blades can be sharp so yes you may think it is a weed.
