Will fertilizing on new grass seed burn it?

I seen someone seeding thier yard then they put fertilizer right on top of the seed will this burn the seed up, or is it alright to do it that way? I'm just curious because ive never seen it done that way before

I applied fertilizer immediately after seeding my lawn. I think it's okay as long as you water it in very well.

I have planted acres that way. As long as you do not over do it there is no problem.

Fertilizing your new lawn is safe, as long as you don't overdo it. Too much fertilizer an actually burn your lawn and stop it from growing. Follow the fertilizer's instructions precisely, and you should be fine.

Best of luck,

Steve

After you seed its good to use a starter fert to help the seed to germinate and for the root system to develope
