Dead lawn trail

Every fall my lawn has this trail of dead grass looking like a trail where the roots of the gress is dying. I have a picture of my lawn but it seems I cannot upload this in the forum.
If anybody has any experience on how to deal with avoiding this in the future, I would appreciate your suggestions.

Welcome to the forum! Glad you found us. It is useful to start by reviewing the Helpful Tips and Suggestions for New Members sections in which you would find this https://www.helpfulgardener.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3724 about how to post pictures here. It can be done (if you browse around you will find lots of pix posted here); they just have to be on-line first; you can't upload them to here, directly from your computer.
I'm not really a lawn care person, but I do think the pictures would be real helpful for when one of our lawn experts comes along.
