Liquid fertilizer late fall

I do not have much success using granular fertilizer. I always seem to spill it which ends up giving me burn spots.

Can I use Scotts liquid turf builder in the late fall, after my last cutting of the lawn, when the grass will no loger grow? Does the grass have to be actively growing to use this liquid fertilizer? I want the lawn to be able to store the nitrogen for the winter but don't know if this form of fertilizer will hurt the lawn when it's no longer growing.

Thanks

IMO, liquid will be fine. If you spill it just like the dry you can get some burn. More than likely the dry is more concentrated and has more salts so it burns. The liquid might be more available so you may use some of it this fall.
