Weed in our lawn
Can anyone ID this culprit in our lawn? It acts like a ground cover and chokes the grass in a couple high and drier spots in our yard. I'm thinking something with 2,4-D in it will kill it, since it has a broadleaf, but wanted to make sure. Thanks.

Can't really tell from the picture, are those leaves and stems thick/ fleshy/ succulent? If so it would be purslane.

Purslane is edible. In the recipes section, I posted a recipe for purslane potato salad that comes out really good.

Here's a better picture; the stems don't appear to be succulent as the ones you sent. It seems to grow in mats and gets thick. When it gets dry the leaves shrink considerably.rainbowgardener wrote:Can't really tell from the picture, are those leaves and stems thick/ fleshy/ succulent? If so it would be purslane.
