I've never posted, not even sure I am doing this right. ANYWAY, I planted this hydrangea 1 week ago. It gets morning sun and afternoon shade. Any ideas why the leaves are turning. I received it in January and have been keeping it indoors until it was warm enough to transplant outdoors. It looked great until I planted it. **since it had been inside for so long, I sat it out on my screened porch a few hours at time weeks before I planted it so it wouldn't be in shock**

I'd say it's likely a phosphorus deficiency. Have you ever had the soil tested for Ph?

No, we just moved here in October. I wonder if one of those soil test kits would tell me the levels? I'll look into that tomorrow!

This mineral deficiency is very common on hydrangeas that have been developed to produce purple blooms. Just add some fertilizer, composted manure or organic compost and they should turn green again in a few weeks.
