I need help! I bought 12 hydrangeas of different colors from a mail order catalog, and I planted them when they said to and only about 3 are growing. I ended up buying a pink one to replace one that was no longer even there. The plants were very small, but about a month ago all had some leaves showing up for the most part or some life, and then one day they were all gone, after we had a bit rain storm, and the stem in the ground is dry and shows no sign of green or any life at all, looks like a 1" dead twig. Is there a possiblity that they might grow. I tried to pull one up and the roots seemed planted in the ground, so I was not sure if maybe off of the roots something might grow, if in fact the roots are still good.
I bought these to line a ditch in our yard to have something showy and nice, but also so the dogs would not see the street and animals when they get big, and for crafts, but all that seems to have happend is they died. I had hibiscus that looked the same and now they are all growing green leaves, so I was hoping that maybe that is the case and they might start growing. The plants were about 2" when I bought them, so very small, but I did exactly what they said and nothing. The one I just bought at the store is doing fantastic. Can someone tell me what is wrong, or anything?
