Hydranga and sunlight

how much sunlight do Hydrangeas need? Is there one that can stand mostly filtered shade?

Almost all of them can handle filtered sunlight; I just don't trust anyones estimation of filtered sunlight (people tend to let wishful thinking get the better of them when it comes to shade...)
