Last year I cut about 30 hydrangea blossom's, leaving a long 1 to 2 foot stem, (if possible). I then wrapped the bottom of the stems into bundles of three, and hung them upside down in my cool, dark laundry room. They hung there for about two weeks, and dried beautifully. The flower heads on them did not sag or wilt. They still look great almost a year later, in a large vase in my dining roo.

You can hang them upside down in a dry place for 2 weeks or you can cut the flowers and put them in a vases (without water) to dry for two weeks. I have not tried putting them in a vase without water; have you? or anyone else? The do last for quite a while! The best time to do this is in the Fall.
