When mine start to bloom, I will share some pictures too.
I think mine will start in a couple weeks. Haven't checked lately, but they should be starting to set the flowers any time now.

great - looking forward to it. I was thinking no one on this site likes sharing!

Do you have "broccoli" already?

If you are talking about where the flowers are just starting to form.
Then yes.

Yep that would be "broccoli" - what kind do you have?

I've got a Nikko Blue beside the house, and a white one out in the back corner of the property. Can't remember the name of that one though.

Wow. I would have expected mopheads to have opened their blooms -to some degree- by now. Paniculatas usually tend to bloom later and it would be "normal" to still see them in the broccoli stage for a few more weeks (especially the further north one is).

Well, I am in zone 6a, and we have had a much colder spring / early summer than normal.
Highs this week might get into the 70's during the warmest part of the day.

So, some of my plants are running quite a bit behind.
Still waiting for the first blooms from my mini-roses as well.

Here is the Nikko Blue as of about an hour ago.

And here is the white one that I planted in the back corner of the property.
As I mentioned, I can't remember what exactly it is.

It's close to 6' tall right now. Hasn't started to show flower buds yet though.

Wow - the NB is beautiful. I can't wait until mine gets that big. Definately post pics when it is in full bloom.

The white one has to be some sort of paniculata. Grandiflora maybe? Would love to see pics of that one as well when blooming.

Thanks for sharing!

Hi ballupo -

How to Post Pictures on a Forum

Go to Photobucket.com or any other photo sharing site then:

1. Register a free account with them. Don't bother entering your cell phone number if they ask for that.

2. Go back to the PhotoBucket home page and click the button that says upload.

3. Click the browse button to browse for the image on your computer then upload it.

4. Look in the lower left hand corner, a thumbnail of your image should be there with a box labled IMG. Copy this code and paste it directly into your post here on this forum.

Alternate Method

If you have a URL like this that ends with .jpg:
https://www.example.com/somepic.jpg

Then you add it to your discussion like this so it shows up as a photo:

That's it!

With thanks to gnome!

Go to https://imageshack.us/
"Browse" to the location on your PC where the image resides
Then click the "Host it" button
After the file is done uploading choose the appropriate image code from the list, "thumbnail for forums" is good
Left click on the code to highlight the code
Then right click and COPY the code.
Come back here and right click and PASTE the code into your next post.

It's Nikko Blue. Pretty popular around here. Sometimes pink in more acid soil.

Is that one bush or multiple? I have a NB but it's only about a year old and not nearly that huge.

This is how they looked when I bought them:

Here they are after replanting, although they changed before I replanted:

Why did they change and how can I get my colors back?

Hi Irydalis,
Hydrangea blooms turn green as they mature. The will eventually turn brown (dead/spent) bloom. Some people dead head them at this point and other leave them on to add winter interest.

Here is a very helpful link with some valuable information -

hope that helps you!
