Pruning

Despite a bad winter, most of the branches survived. Many have a bud at the very tip of the branch. If left alone will this end bud produce a flower?

I obviously cannot see what you are looking at but if it is near end of the stem, it is likely a leaf/growth bud. Flower buds tend to grow lower and get a little fatter than the leaf/growth buds.

I was told if there is any sign of buds to leave them alone and to only prune above any buds
