Best Dwarf Hydrangea?

Hello,

I have a bed of hostas on the side of my house. I would like to pair some hydrangeas with them in a separate row but I don't want the standard hydrangea which gets quite big (6').

Are there any dwarfs you would recommend? The area is part shade.

Yes, there are a few, brubel. You could try planting Hydrangea Macrophylla Pia, also known as Dwarf Pink. It has a tendency for spreading as opposed to growing tall. It can get 2-3 feet tall. It can be ordered by mail/Internet or can be found in local nurseries. I just bought one a month ago locally.

Others that you can choose are the Cityline Series, advertised to grow somewhere between 1-3 feet tall. These are somewhat new though so the jury is still out as to whether they will really remain that tall in all geographical locations or not. So far so good though. These may be a little more difficult to find locally.
