I have a gardening job coming up as soon as some of this rain stops here in Va. There is a very big Hydrangea that they want split in half, it is over growing the flower bed. They don't want to lose the whole plant.
My question is, is it to late to do this. I will be doing this, hopefully this week.
Also if I split it, will I be able to save it for my yard. I have already read up on how to trans plant one. please answer ASAP. Thank for all the help.

If it's really big you might want to do more than half it (or you may just end up with two huge plants that LOOK like halves).
I have dug and transferred hydrangeas at many different times of year, and this is doable, but know you are going to be watering a lot this summer. But sure, you should be able to do this; I'd cut it back hard, and make as many decent chunks out of it as I thought I could, get them back in the ground as fast as I could, and water the snot out of them. As foliage begins to regenerate, I'd watch it to see when it needs water, only doing so when it gets a bit weepy in the foliage, which will be less and less as time goes by...
