Growing Herbs in Pots

Are there any herbs that won't grow well in pots?

I just found some instructions for a 'tipsy pot' project that I thought would make an awesome project. I've never grown herbs before but I think I would like to give it a shot.

Here is the project.

Are there any herbs that I should avoid trying to grow in pots?

I'm really excited to give this a try![/url]

What a wonderful idea. I have seen them online before done with flowers but never with herbs.
I don't think you will have a problem using any herbs in them. Obviously nothing large like rosemary and nothing that would dislike drying out too much but apart from that any type.
Personally I would go for the creepers (oregano, thyme, chamomile etc.) just so they could dangle over the sides.
Make sure you post a picture of what you do! :D

I've wondered about those tipsy pots--I've seen them, and they are attractive.

The thing I wonder about is how difficult they are to water--the angle at which the pots lean make me wonder if water will just run out of them. I have no direct experience with them, however.

Herbs I think I'd plant would be creeping thymes, mints, oraganos--things with strong root systems.
