I have planted several at a time in windowsill boxes - about five at a time in two foot boxes. Now, I have some in Earthboxes, but that's overkill - I just planted them after taking the dead cukes out, so I would get some use out of it. I also have some in hydroponics, but that's another story.

I prefer to grow them separately so they bush out more. I have grown them in 6 inch pots. But mostly I grow them in the ground about 4-6 inches apart.

I like to grow it outside in the summer. Indoors works too. You need to consider that cilantro has a long tap root, about 12" lng. You will need a deep pot for the tap root.
