Basil Starts Coloring?

My basil plants have been doing good; I recently started taking outside to harden off. Some of the leaves have been getting a purple discoloring. Any ideas? Perhaps it was a sunburn?

How much sun have you been giving them when you brought them out? Not sure but It could be sunburn? If you didn't introduce them to the sun slowly that can happen.

Yeah, definitely does not look good. I've found some leafs on mine doing the same, but after I found them a shady spot to where they're getting only half a days worth of light it calmed down a lot.

Where are you located? While it could be sunburn, it could also be a reaction to cold temps. Basil is a tropical plant. Tomato plants can also suffer from this purplish discoloration when temps are a bit too cold for comfort.
