Hello guys, I am researching certain herbs and I have difficulty identify this herb.

You called it an herb. Is it herbal, that is scented/aromatic? What does it smell like when you crush the leaves?

It looks a bit like coreopsis, but that isn't an herb and is not scented.

That is Mexican mint marigold, Tagetes lucida. It is also called Mexican tarragon. It is a good substitute for French tarragon especially in warm areas where French tarragon does not survive.

It is perennial here.

I have had it before, nice scent and delicious to eat. I just don't have anymore room for perennials or else I'd have one.

It is easier to grow here than tarragon. French tarragon does not live through hot summers.

The Mexican tarragon is a direct substitute for tarragon in recipes.

It is not the easiest thing to find, but I have a couple of plants and they don't need much care except for dividing once in a while.

Wow, I've always had trouble in summer with french tarragon so that sounds great. Can someone tell me what zones that can tolerate? I'm in 6 so it might not work but I'd love to try.
