hydroponic window herb garden

My seeds have just started sprouting for a window herb garden. I am making a hydroponic window herb garden for my husband who likes to cook w/fresh herbs. It is going to be a bubbler system in a window planter that will fit nicely in the south facing kitchen window. I don't know anything about herbs, but will enjoy the learning process. So far chives, thyme, oregano, and rosemary have sprouted. I am also starting some spinach in a verticle window system in the south facing dining room window. YUMMMO! Anyway, I will be lurking in this area to learn more about the herbs and how to save them for later use, but the ideas is to plant just enough that between using and giving away to family and friends there will not be enough left to have to do something with.
