Chia Seeds

I just learned of Chia seeds and all the good nutritional qualities https://www.nutsonline.com/cookingbaking/chia-seeds/premium.html

As I was researching the plant I discovered it was an herb in the mint family. And when I looked for images I was surprised to see that the chia plant looks very similar to a plant I bought earlier this year -- Agastache Blue Fortune.

Just curious, can you harvest edible seeds from the Agastache Blue Fortune?

I imagine so, the rest of the plant, leaves and flowers are edible. I use them in teas, but also in salads and vegetables. Have never tried the seeds, which are very tiny. You would need a whole lot of them to add up to any significant nutrition.

Thanks RBG, I'll have the check it out when the plant reflowers; A while ago I cut off all the buds (stopped producing flowers) and threw them under the mulch.

Also, now I'll have to check and see if any of my local nursuries have the chia plant.

I eat chia seeds. I usually put a tablespoon over my food. I never tried to grow them though.
