Prostrate Rosemary & French Thyme--How to harvest?

Herbers nutz:
I finally gave up on the styrofoam cups experiment and purchased a french thyme and prostrate rosemary plant and have not planted them yet, but plan to transplant them into a pot with good drainage. :D

My question is how often do I water the plants and where exactly do I prune? I google'd some stuff but did not find anything helpful. From what I read, these plants do not like a lot of water. I could not find anything on pruning.

Not sure on the thyme but rosemary should not be pruned at all the first year. But I know both like a well drained soil. And they don't like too much watering. I water a small rosemary plant about once a week. And I do a light watering too. The average temps during the day here are in the 90s. These plants are from the Mediterranean so they are used to dry and hot conditions.

Rosemary grows really slow. You will not see tons of growth right away, being perennials they will take a few years to really take off.
