I'm pretty sure it isn't any of those. I know it can be made into a tincture. That's why I purchased it from the lady at the market. I bought quite a few things so I just can't put my finger on the name. Thank you all for taking a stab!
I thought it was St. Johns wort but after some research, I'm sure it isn't.
Here is a better picture.

It isn't thyme, and yes it was for medicinal purposes. My mother has fibromyalgia and a number of other illnesses and I remember it being something that would help.
I've looked up and down on herb lists and nothing rings a bell.
Thank you all for your input. I hope I figure it out before its too late!
*Edit*
Too late in the season, not too late for my mother. She is doing fine.

I couldn't find a real good picture of St. John's wort. Here's one that's not real close up of the leaves:

I used to have some St John's wort growing (it died out, because it was in too shady a location, a chronic problem in my shady yard) and I remember it looking kind of like that. Why did you decide it wasn't?

It could be St Johns Wort, the new growth does look like that but it could also be a lot of other things, too. The stem of St Johns Wort on new growth is usually red. Mine is, anyway.
Without smelling it or seeing the flowers, it's hard to tell for sure. I wouldn't depend on an ID from a picture if you are going to use it for something specific or sell it.
