My sage has holes in the leaves

My sage that was growing beautifully all of a sudden developed some white stuff on the leaves, close to the stems. Now, the leaves have holes in them. Do you think it is still good to eat and what should I do if it is good to preserve it? My herbs are in a raised bed. Any help appreciated; this is my first time trying herbs. :)

It is still ok to use it I wouldn't bother drying it, generally you only want the very best leaves for that. As for the foam, that is where the pests matured that are now eating your plant. Next year if you see any wipe it off the plants. I had it on my lavender as well and a few of the other plants. It is hard to wash off as it takes downward pressure right on it to do that. I wipe it off, wipe my hands on a towel, and wipe somemore off for about 2 weeks. Then wash hands and towel well. That takes care of the problem unless the neighbor leaves too much on their plants.
