Cutting Flat leaf Parsley Down

Will parsley grow back if it cut down to about 3 inches from the dirt in a pot? If not should I get another plant?

I cut my parsley in the garden back to about 2" and it all grew back very well, even in the intense heat and dry spell we are having.

Here in North Carolina, my flat leaf parsley comes back every year. I usually plant a couple extra since it's a host food for swallow tail butterfly. I also learned when harvesting parsley, I cut the stem, not just the leaves. I usually cut stems around the outside of each plant. Leafy parsley stems kept in a vase of water, keeps for quite a long time especially if I water the plants in the morning before I cut.
