Pot size for Basil?

Hi Folks,

I have 2 Basil plants I would like to transplant to bigger pots. What is a good size for a basil plant? Could you give me in inches or a size comparison? I have 2 pots but not sure they are big enough. Thanks

My basil is in the ground and by summers end it will likely be close to 3.5-4 ft. tall and just about as bushy. If I were to put it in a container, I'd opt for something close to a 5 gallon bucket.

Mine gets close to that big, but still I grow them in pots that are maybe 10" across and 12" deep, more like 2 gallons than 5. But one per pot that size!

I've been doing 3 in 10 -12" pot. I do harvest regular (for sales), so never gets real tall.
