Plant getting sick

Hi. I am hoping I can get some expert advice on this plant.

I was told the leaves are edible and I think its a herb plant but I have no idea what its called. Can someone tell me what it is?

Also, if you look closely at the leaves, it looks like getting sick. The leaves have these brownish lines and one of them have dried up turning yellow. What could possibly be the problem?

Here's the pics.

genchan, when I click on the links to your pics, all I get is the sign-in page for google docs.

I think you'll have better luck if you first upload your pics to an image-hosting site, such as photobucket.com. You can find our webmaster's instructions for posting pics at this link:

Cool! It sure makes a whole lot easier with the instructions. Thanks Kisal!

Ok, here are the pics again:

My cousin used to grow them on the ground and they spread fast. The roots are not deep but will move across the soil and very soon new shoots coming up. I tried asking him what its called but he doesn't know. This one that I have is grown in a container.

The lines on the leaves look like the work of leaf miners. If it is not affecting the entire plant but only a few leaves, I'd just cut them off and toss them in the trash and nowhere near the garden.

Thanks Gumbo. This is the first time I am learning about leaf miners. Its a small plant and I'm quite hesitant to cut off the infected leaves but looks like I will have to do so to prevent the spread.

How do I get rid of the leaf miners from infecting my other healthy leaves?
