I have been wondering what's the difference of these two types of pennywort:
1. Hydrocotyle verticillata/vulgaris

2. Cantella asiatica

I understand that pennywort is a medicinal herb plant. But are both types medicinal herb? They look a like - roundish - but slightly different in shape.

I don't know of a particular use for Hydrocotyle verticillata, which I would call in common local terms "pennywort." I have composted it, but that's about it.
The other, Centella asiatica is also known as gotu kola. Both grow easily in my yard without any assistance or introduction by me. I don't actively use this one either.
I understand it comes in handy if you happen to have leprosy. Just sayin.
