Galangal

How best to grow these? I have successfully grown some from a chunk of locally bought galangal. I've started it off in a small pot. What should I do next?
Also.. is it a heavy feeder? Shade or sun?

Make sure your soil is loose and free-draining, then put it in part shade and water it when the soil is dry to the depth of your second knuckle.

All gingers are heavy feeders, and Galangal is no exception. Twice a month is what I do with my gingers (and I grow a wide assortment) - this seems to keep them nice and tall, and blooming.

I've put it in a garden bed, so the soil is pretty good quality. Unfortunately it's in full sun at the moment.... might have to transplant it or rig up some temporary shading until the monsoon rains kick in.

Thanks for the tips! :D
