Purple ruffle basil results

I grew purple ruffle basil this year, dried it in a dehydrator, crushed it and am now storing it. Tried it in spaghetti sauce, and it added such flavor! In the garden it has the aroma of anise, but can't say that's the flavor it added. Just brightened the sauce.
:D From now on, it will always be part of my garden.

That sounds delicious. Well done for the wonderful results.
Purple ruffle basil is also nice if you add to salad, or salad dressing. It adds colors too. I've seen people using it to color food in preserved food too.

I put some purple in my vinegars (for cleaning) and not only did it turn the color lovely, it smelled divine! A friend gave me some and I used it fresh in the vinegar. I will be growing some next year as well.

So glad to hear of how you used the purple ruffles.
I'm naming it the "Herb of the year" for 2011.
