Pot Size

I originally started out with an 8 inch pot because the package (that contains the basil seeds) that contained my facial cleanser was quite large. I thought a lot more would sprout but it has been a few months and only two have sprouted. In order to keep them growing and healthy should I down size?

They will be o.k. in an oversized pot, but be sure not to over water. Let the top inch or so dry before watering. I alway start my basil in two or three inch pots with about six or eight seeds. I move them to one gallon pots when the plants get about two inches tall.
