Flowering oregano/ Thai basil

Hello all~

I have a Mexican oregano plant that is beginning to put out flowers. Does anyone know if I need to pinch off the flowers or the plant or do anything at all?
I read one entry on the Thai basil about the purple flowers but am still unclear as to whether to pinch or trim off the flowers when in bloom or after they dry out?

Many thanks and pleasant days~

Yes, in general you want to pinch out all the flowers on your herbs to keep the plant growing and producing more leaves. I do let a few flowers grow, especially on the oregano, because the honeybees love them and some butterflies also.

Absolutely and you only have to miss a couple at the wrong time to see your highly productive plant bolt to seed seemingly overnight….
