Herbs that can grow in the summer?

I just cleared out my jungle of a backyard and have tons of space to plant things. My friend is turning me on to herbal medicine, and thinks I would enjoy having an herb garden. My question is, is it too late to grow anything? Or is there anything I can plant in the summer that will do fine? I know pretty much nothing about gardening lol. Thanks.

there are plenty of herbs, both culinary and medicinal, that you could buy as plants now...hard to suggest specifics, without knowing what herbs you might have in mind.

The only suggestion I have is that, at this time of year, you buy plants at a nursery, rather than try to start your herbs from seeds. If you begin with starts, they will have plenty of time to produce a good crop for you. :)
