Gold Esperanza question

I have a gold esperanza bush in my backyard. I planted it last November and it bloomed immediately. This spring, it also bloomed until it produced seed pods. I snipped those off, as I had read should be done. Since that time, I haven't gotten any blooms from it. I continue to water it, the leaves are green, and new leaves are growing, so I feel that it is healthy. I've seen this plant in my neighborhood and in nearby commercial plazas - these plants all have numerous blooms. Why is mine ceased blooming?

Back off on the water??? If you have the TX native, chances are it may actually like what's referred to as drought stress which promotes blooms. Other thoughts would be if you pruned the plant or not as I believe the TX native blooms on old wood. In other words, too severe of a pruning and you could have cost yourself blooms. Other than that, the native Tecoma likes full sun but can handle a little shade. Do you know which one you bought? One is tropical and should be in a pot and brought in for the winter and one could be planted outside where you garden year round.

You might want to check for information online using this- Tecoma stans instead of esperanza bush.

If I overpruned my esperanzas, then further insulted them by digging them up and moving them, will they EVER bloom again? Or should I just dig them up and replace them with something that will bloom? I hate to kill something that grows so nicely because I have a brown thumb and these plants love the neglect - but I really want blooms! :?
