Would anyone happen to know what type of plant these beans are from? I found them in Greece growing in prickly pods. Would love to know more about them if anyone can help.

I'm not sure. Did you ever find out? Have you planted them?

Awesome.

I'm not sure either though, sorry.

Good luck, hope you get lots of beans. :)

looks like some bamboo (or similar-looking plant) I have seen around here, both the stalk and the bean. I saw it after the leaves were gone so can't comment there.
I found some beans in pods from this bamboo-like stuff around here after they had culled some back and chopped a bunch off, as it grows mega tall. like taller than a 2 story + attic duplex by me.
it may not be exactly the same, but the bean looks almost identical to some of mine, the colors/patterns are all actually quite different bean to bean, but all share a theme. that and the white section puckered from where it clung inside the pod is the same.
if it is bamboo, keep in mind some forms spread like mad, others are more contained to one little area.
even if it is contained to a pot, I have a feeling it will get tall on you ;)

anyhow, the seeds/beans are marvelously beautiful.

edit: looking at bamboo pics, I am sure this isn't it, at least not common varieties I see pics of.... but the plant you have reminds me of the stuff that some people grow around here. it will grow really taaaaalllllllll and lanky. may not be so suited for a small pot w/o a weight to keep from getting top heavy.

sorry I don't know exactly what it is, but hope that helps.

I'm thinking it looks like castor bean (bean from castor oil plant)....

I was thinking that too. The leaves are palmate.

This is the one you probably don't want if it is Castor

wow, yeah those beans and leaves are a good match

beans still look a lot like the (false?) bamboo around here.
