Tanuki or Phoenix Graft

Hi,
This video is series of photo's showing how I created this Tanuki from a dead Juniperus Meyerei and a nondescript Juniper which is aprox ten years old and has been kept in a small pot, it should look quite good in a couple of years time when the branches have filled out a bit.

koiboy01,

I very recently had the opportunity to watch your presentation, good job and thanks for posting it. If it's OK with you I would like to move this thread to the Photo Gallery section of the bonsai forums. I feel that would be a more appropriate spot for it and besides, there are less threads there it won't get pushed off the page so quickly.

I have been talking myself into trying my first tanuki but still have not. I have a dead Yew trunk. Do you, by any chance, know it that wood is suitable?

Hi Norm,
No problem with the bonsai gallery forum, I don't know if your yew is ok for a tanuki but I would still have a go with it, otherwise your piece of yew would just be wasted, I WOULD GO FOR IT.
