Very nice trees. :) The Brazilian Rain Tree is especially nice, I do not see many of those, and it is a fine specimen.

The Brazilian Rain Tree is cool. It closes its leaves in the evenings and opens at first light. I will get some close up photos of these and post when I have the chance.

It started dropping leaves after the initial move here but it seems to have stabilized and is growing quickly. I am interested in keeping it no higher/taller but developing the trunk width and branches to fill out.

I wish I could take credit for this but I did receive it as a gift recently. Talk to Ken at www.bestbonsaitree.com - he has been very helpful and I hope to meet him at the next local bonsai society meeting.

I will be asking many questions myself as I am new to bonsai.

I realize now that my statement about the trunk filling out was ignorant. As I have read and studied it is likely to stay near the same diameter as it ages unless it grows unchecked in a less confined space. Oh well, live and learn.

I still love the BRT and think it is a fine specimen in my collection.
