Hello all
I got this bonsai almost two years ago, but I have no idea how to take care of or prune it. But now I'm learning thanks to this forum.
I think it's a Juniper though I'm just guessing from looking at other photos. Other than that I'm looking for a little help with the aesthetics. Any suggestions would be great.

You definitely have a juniper, I think it's Juniperus procumbens specifically. Your tree looks like it has good potential for the literati style, or with some trunk development a slanting style. The first picture you posted looks like the most appropriate "front" for the tree and should be repotted accordingly.
