Bougainvillea start

Heya - I just wanted to post a pic of the bougainvillea I started last fall - I know it's not much compared to most all other bougies I've seen, and it has a ways to go (to say the least - so don't laugh!)

- but it started blooming 2 weeks ago and I think it looks pretty!

I brought it indoors before the temps got colder and it has been sitting in a kitchen bay window all winter so far - I thought it was dead until it did this :D

I made the pot out of free marble tile remnants I cut with a tile saw...

Very nice, I like the pot you made as well.

alisios,

Very creative with the pot. How have you provided drainage?

With a 3/4" masonry drill bit I slowly drilled a hole in the bottom piece of marble in the center - The pieces were glued together with 2 step epoxy and allowed to dry... the whole pot is 6"x6"x2"

I then used those rubber stick-on feet for underneath...

I have some more of the marble and I would like to make more - next would be a matching drip tray for this one.

I also got (for free) some really nice polished black marble tile that will be cut into pieces for pots too... can't wait for this -

Can you tell winter has me anxious? :)

alisios,

Oh, I understand all too well. I was just telling Tom that I have some potting coming up and I am pretty sure that I will layer the Zelkova (broom) this year. I can't wait to get started.
