Trouble With Meyer Lemon

Hi everyone,

I am new here and completely new to container gardening in general. I have a small lemon tree, which is not even a year yet that I am having problems with.

To start with, this tree was grown from a seed in a 15 gallon container. When I took it for my patio, it had never had citrus food or anything. I brought it with me to my old apartment and it flurished. There was a huge wild fire, and that's when the leaves started to turn yellow.

I moved a week ago, and the leaves have continued to yellow, and curl. New leaves are now deformed and yellow, but none have fallen off. There are also holes in the leaves now.

I want to save the tree, I have given it citrus food and am going to wait at least another week before watering it again to allow to the soil to dry up. Does anyone know what this could be? And how I can treat it?

Are you giving it full sun? I know citrus plants love full sun, and cant live without it. To me it sounds like some insect infestation, like thrips. If you can, post some pictures on here of the leafs, that should help, but for now I cant recomend anything. You could try to wash it with a mild insecticide, but I'd wait until we have pictures.

Yes, it gets full sun, with very bright morning sun. It's cloudy right now so that's why it's so dark.

Here are some pictures I took with my camera phone, so pardon the poor quality.

I'm almost sertian the holes are the work of insects or slugs. I would spray it with neem oil, as this has worked protecting my citrus plants. What kind of soil is it being grown in? I'm not shure exacly what is causing the yellowing and/or deforming the leafs, so the more information I know on soil, watering, fertilizing, and tempature the more I can help.
