Can I bring back my potted bougainvilleas?

I have some potted bougainvilleas which were not watered at all for about 2-3 weeks. I live in central FL, so the sun and heat is pretty hard on plants. I have started caring for these six plants, but so far only two have started to come back. Should I give up on the others? Or should I wait longer for them? I have been caring for them for about 2 weeks now.

Well, if they are not coming back now, they are probably done. But if you can show us some pictures we'll be better able to help you.

Well,
I had been told by someone to prune the dead branches off - down to green. Two of the ones that do not look well are down to nothing but some sticks coming up from the soil - and there was no bright green when I pruned them, just a pale green. The other two that are not well I cut down to the base completely. I read somewhere that bougainvilleas sometimes take 4-6 weeks to come back. Could this be true?
