FERTILIZING AZALEAS

What fertilizer does an Azalea need please? :D

it likes acidic fertilizer fortified with iron and micronutrients. Rose food, or mg for acid loving plants, or azalia and camelia food. You don't need very much. It is more important to keep the soil on the acidic side with a pH 5.5-6.8. If you use pine bark and compost to keep it moist and well drained. If you use fresh sawdust or mulch, you will probably have to fertilize. If you fertilize do it in the Spring when new growth starts. Don't fertilize in the heat of summer

Azaleas where I live need to be in partial shade (tropical climate). They are not tolerant of pollution or dust so they do not make good street or driveway plants.

An azalea is a cousin of a rhododendron and like similar treatment. They are just more warm tolerant.
