Temporarily moving and storing bamboo

Good afternoon everyone,

I'm hoping somebody can help me. I work for a roofing contractor and we have a project where we need to remove decking from a balcony terrace and install a new roof covering. Currently on the balcony is a large oak planter with some well established bamboo. In order to carry out the work we need to remove the planter. The only way this can be done is to to remove all the soil and bamboo and take the planter apart.

Could someone please offer any advise they have as to how best to remove bamboo and temporarily store it for a period of up to month?

Bamboo is so easy to grow I would think it would bounce back easily. To keep it as alive as possible, wrap the roots ball(s) in hessian or sacking with some of the soil and keep moist. Cut back the stems to allow new growth after replanting. This is a great opportunity for the owners to thin it out and give new compost in the planter and to get new green growth.
