Plant ID - help

Hi,

Just moved into a house and cannot ID this plant. It's always under cover, and some leaves have turned yellow recently. I have no idea what to do to take care of it....any ideas?

That looks like a Rubber Plant (Ficus elastica). They are extremely drought tolerant and can develop yellow leaves when overwatered, OR when they are utterly dried out... But all in all, it's a very forgiving easy plant to grow.

House plant sized ones are basically babies and are low light tolerant, developing sunburned leaves if exposed to too much sun without slowly acclimating.

If you want to contain it-you can cut off some of the growth and it will branch where it is cut. I don't know where you are, but here in SW Louisiana, some are planted in the ground in protected spots. Lots of bright light, but not too much direct sun.
