Help with my ponytail palm

So I am in need desperate help with my pony tail palm. I was given this lovely plant as gift and I think I was over watering it bc the leaves started turning brown so at first I thought it needed more water and then over the next few days it started looking worse HELP

Any advice to help save my lil plant would be so amazing

I think you over watered. Glazed ceramic pots notoriously have only one small drain hole. I usually pot my ponytail palm in a smaller pot and higher up. You really want to show the swollen part of the pony tail palm. I use clay or cement pots because they breathe.

I use a mix that dries quickly that has some sand or cinder in it.
