How poisonous is the angel trumpet?

I was just at the fair yesterday, and a lady gave me a cutting from an angel trumpet. She said nothing about poison, yet when I got home to do some info search on the plant, I found out otherwise. Is it ok with 2 cats in the house? Also, how poisonous is it? THANKS

It is not at all poisonous if they don't eat it or roll around on crushed leaves.
If your cats eat the leaves of your house plants, you either need to not have it or have it somewhere the cats can't get to it. It can make them seriously ill or even kill them if they would eat enough of it. My guess is they wouldn't eat that much or they would vomit it right back up, but still you probably don't want to experiment on your cats like that.
