Hello from Moore, Oklahoma! I need to know if it is okay to dead-head Bracteanthas? The variety of this beautiful flower is Mohave. I read online somewhere that this is not necessary, but I want new blooms. The faded ones are not pretty at all.
(O: Thanks,
Jana

Definitely deadhead your strawflowers! Sometimes people leave them, because part of what strawflowers are valued for is they dry so easily, even on the stem. Then you can use them for dried flower arrangements. But it will keep the plant from producing more flowers. To keep the flower production going, deadhead the spent flowers.
