Northwest window

Will a spider plant do well in a northwest window? If not, then what will do well in a northwest window?

Variegated spider plant needs more light than solid green one. Northwest window should be fine during the longer day months since the sun sets further to the north -- in fact, you may need to provide some kind of filtered light to protect from direct scorching sun -- but during short day months with no sun at all, the light may not be sufficient for variegated cultivars depending on the window treatment you are using.

It will be tricky then, since it will slow down in growth and will need less water, but in the winter, heated rooms usually have less humidity and the soil dries out faster. Be sure to adjust your watering schedule accordingly and mist often.
