What are the best plants for hanging baskets in your opinion

I know it's still very early but the winter is a time to dream, I guess. I am planning on having hanging baskets on my front porch this year. The porch is facing south but has a large maple tree in front of it. I would think the baskets get direct sun light for about two hours and then four/ five filtered.
I was thinking of doing petunias (wave) but am not sure whether it will be enough sun.
What do you guys/ gals plant in your baskets and why?

I do lots of petunias in hanging baskets in areas with half day sun. But two hours is very minimal, I'm not thinking they would make it or at least not thrive very well.

Impatiens makes a great hanging basket for shade:

and so do begonias:

Other than that I would think about foliage baskets, with different textures of foliage, like round, spiky, ferny and/or different colored/ variegated foliage.

The hanging baskets of ferns along a shady porch is a very traditional look:

For variegated / colorful foliage for shady baskets, there's caladium, coleus, variegated ivy, polka dot plant and lots of others.
