Hi, I have a really stupid question but whatever.., I used the baggie method to germinate some datura seeds I have and was just wondering which part is the root?
(not mine)
Would the white part be the root? Meaning to put the white part downwards in a pot when moving to a pot?
Also how big a pot do you think is good for a datura plant? I've read they get quite big so wasn't sure..
Hi Neph,
Welcome to The Helpful Gardener. I'd like to start with the fact that no question is a stupid question. Actually that's a really good question.
What you see is the primary root with the leaves starting to sprout from it. Take a look here.

Best to plant your seeds in 4" pots. When the pots fill with roots, repot them into a pot 2" larger. Transplant into a pot that is 2" larger each time, as long as the plant keeps filling the pot with roots.
