Do you recognize this plant?

We have had this plant in the same container for over 5 years. It has died during winter and come back. We don't know the name of it and of course not even how to care for it. We want to take it out of the container and transplanted to the ground. What do you think?

Hard to tell. Have you ever seen it bloom? I'm thinking aroid of some sort right now. Maybe anthurium.

It has never bloomed. This plant is just coming back from the freeze where we thought it was dead. This is the second time this has happened and in regular conditions it gives big green leaves.
